The UN has started an extensive investigation on some of its own officers after allegations of child sexual abuse by locals as well as some soldiers. Young girls, some as young as 13 years old have been offered money and food in the south eastern province of Kivu, for sexual favors. The UN immediately implemented a ban on its troops to have sex with any locals.
